This classic Cracker house - Ada's Wabi Sabi Cottage - was built in 1919 and completely and lovingly restored in 2004. I changed the exterior as little as possible but once you step inside no detail has been overlooked. I added central air conditioning, vintage reproduction lighting, outfitted the kitchen and bath with modern conveniences - all while keeping the cottage charm.
It is so special that Budget Travel magazine featured Ada's Wabi Sabi Cottage in their September 2011 issue of Top 10 Coolest towns in America and Cedar Key was Number 8 in the entire country.
Ceder Key is was occupied first by native Florida Indians and later by pre-Civil war settlers. Ada's Wabi Sabi Cottage was built for workers from the fiber factory and is one of only a few of those cottages that remain beautifully un-remuddled.
